Pune: MSEDCL’s Bhosari Division Restructured To Enhance Service For Consumers

Pune, 18th October 2023 : In a move aimed at improving service delivery for urban electricity consumers in Pimpri Chinchwad, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has divided the Bhosari Division, which includes Bhosari, Akurdi, and Chikhali, into Bhosari Subdivision-1 and Bhosari Subdivision-2. This restructuring will be instrumental in delivering more efficient and specialized services. The announcement was made through an official circular issued by MSEDCL on Tuesday.

The construction of Bhosari Subdivision-2 includes the establishment of three branch offices, all equipped to cater to the unique requirements of consumers in the region. With a total of 69 technical and non-technical positions approved, this move is expected to bolster service standards significantly.

The proposal for this restructuring was initially put forth the local MLA Mahesh Landge during the state assembly session in July 2023. Subsequently, it received approval from the Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Bhosari Subdivision-2 has been created.

This restructuring will not only enhance service efficiency but also cater to the needs of the expanding consumer base. The Bhosari Subdivision-1 will serve Bhosari Village, Charholi, and Nashik Road branches, while the Bhosari Subdivision-2 will cover Indrayani Nagar (under construction), Moshi, and Spine City (under construction) branches. The Akurdi Subdivision will oversee Chinchwad, Sambhajinagar, and Chikhali (under construction) branches. A total of 12 new positions have been approved for the newly established Bhosari Subdivision 2 while 19 positions have been approved for Chikhali, Indyrayaninagar and Spine City Branches. This includes executive engineers, assistant engineers, junior engineers, assistant accountants and lower-level clerical staff.

Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer of the Pune Circle of MSEDCL highlighted that this restructuring would benefit approximately 2,70,000 electricity consumers. With the addition of these 69 technical and non-technical positions, it is expected that all consumers will receive more reliable and efficient electricity services, ensuring a smoother and more dependable power supply for urban areas in Maharashtra.
