Pune: “Mulshi Pattern” Scene Comes Alive in Ravet, Two Arrested for Assault with Koyta

Ravet, 22nd April 2024: Two individuals assaulted a 23-year-old youth with Koyta, accusing him of laughing at them, resulting in serious injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday (21st April) at the Shivraj Hotel in Ravet. The resemblance of this incident to a scene from the popular Marathi movie “Mulshi Pattern” has drawn attention.

The Ravet Police have apprehended Tushar Sonawane (23 years old, resident of Aundh) and Vaibhav Shinde (26 years old, resident of Punawale) in connection with the assault. The victim, Mohit Singh (23 years old, resident of Chinchwad), filed a complaint with the Ravet Police Station.

According to the police, the complainant and his friends were dining at the Shivraj Hotel in Ravet, enjoying themselves and sharing laughter. The accused individuals, seated at a nearby table, confronted them, questioning their amusement and launching verbal abuse. They attacked the complainant with a Koyta, inflicting severe injuries to his head, cheeks, and chest, with an apparent attempt to take his life. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital.

Ravet Police have filed a case against the accused under IPC Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), along with relevant sections of the Arms Act of 1959 and the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951.
