Pune Municipal Corporation Implements Lottery Initiatives to Promote Timely Settlement of Property Taxes
Pune, 6th June 2023: In a move aimed at motivating property owners to promptly settle their tax dues, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has unveiled lottery programs applicable to residential, non-residential, and open plot taxpayers who make their payments between May 15 and July 31, 2023.
Ajit Deshmukh, the Head of PMC’s Tax Department, stated, “In addition to the existing 5% to 10% discount, the PMC has introduced a lottery scheme for all taxpayers who pay their property taxes on time.”
Furthermore, the PMC has recently embarked on a commercial property sealing drive targeting those who have not fulfilled their tax obligations. Over the past two weeks, the PMC has already seized 120 properties worth Rs 2.5 crores.
