Bibwewadi, 3rd January 2026: BJP candidates campaigning in ward number 20 of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections appeared to have gained early momentum on Saturday, as they carried out an intensive door-to-door outreach across key residential pockets in Bibwewadi–Shankar Maharaj Math area.

With the civic polls approaching, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s official candidates Rajendra Aba Shilimkar, Tanvi Prashant Divekar, Mansi Manoj Deshpande and Mahendra Sundecha Muttha began their campaign at 10 am, focusing on direct interaction with voters. The morning round covered areas including Mudra Society, Jitu Park, Shahu Society, Aishwarya Park, Celila Apartment, Mahavir Park, Koteshwar Society and the Raav Hospital vicinity.

During these visits, the candidates listened to residents’ concerns and suggestions, particularly on civic infrastructure, sanitation, water supply, traffic management, public safety and overall local development. Party leaders said the feedback received from citizens would form the basis of their local action plan if elected.

The second phase of campaigning began at 5 pm with a rally and door-to-door interactions in Surya Prabha Garden area, Vishnuvihar, Kenjale Nagar, Kumar Park, Todkar Garden and Vastunagar Society. Residents in these localities reportedly responded positively, with several stopping to interact with the candidates and party workers.

Addressing voters, BJP candidates reiterated their commitment to development-oriented and transparent governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. They said their priority would be the holistic development of ward number 20, timely resolution of civic issues and efficient municipal administration.

The campaign witnessed the participation of BJP office-bearers, local workers and a significant number of residents, reflecting an active start to the party’s election push in the ward.
