Pune Municipal Elections 2026: PMC Announces Vote Counting Centres Across City
Pune, 9th January 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced the counting centres for the upcoming municipal elections, with polling scheduled on January 15 and vote counting to be held the following day, January 16. The civic administration has finalised a zone-wise plan, with counting to take place at sports complexes, schools, colleges and cultural centres across the city.
According to PMC Deputy Commissioner Arvind Mali, all ballot boxes will be securely stored in designated strong rooms set up at the respective counting venues immediately after polling. The arrangements have been made keeping security, accessibility and smooth conduct of the counting process in mind.
The vote counting will be conducted as per the jurisdiction of each ward office. The centres finalised for different zones are as follows:
Under the Bibwewadi ward office, counting will take place at the kabaddi ground at Baburao Sanas Ground, Sarasbaug.
For wards under the Sinhagad Road ward office, votes will be counted at the Sharadchandra Pawar Academy of E-Learning in Vadgaon.
The Kasba–Vishrambaugwada ward office wards will have their counting at New English School on Tilak Road.
For the Dhankawadi–Sahakarnagar region, the counting centre will be the tin shed located within the ward office premises.
Wards under the Ghole Road–Shivajinagar ward office will have vote counting at the Agriculture College ground in Shivajinagar.
The Kondhwa–Yewalewadi ward office has designated Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj E-Learning School on Katraj–Kondhwa Road as its counting centre.
For the Wanwadi–Ramtekdi region, counting will be conducted at Jijau Mangal Karyalaya within SRPF Group No. 1 in Wanwadi.
Under the Hadapsar–Mundhwa ward office, votes will be counted at Karmaveer Auditorium in Sadhana Vidyalaya, run by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha.
The Yerwada–Kalas–Dhanori region will have its counting at Rajaram Pathare Stadium in Kharadi.
For Aundh–Baner wards, the badminton hall at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, has been selected.
Wards under the Kothrud–Bavdhan ward office will have counting at MIT Vishwashanti University in Kothrud.
The Bhavani Peth ward office has identified Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Secondary School near Ramoshi Gate police chowky as the counting centre.
For Warje–Karvenagar wards, counting will take place at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay School, Paud Phata.
Under the Dhole Patil Road ward office, the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Memorial in Koregaon Park has been designated as the counting venue.
For the Nagar Road–Vadgaon Sheri ward office, vote counting will be conducted within the regional office premises itself.
The civic administration has stated that necessary security arrangements and logistical support will be in place at all centres to ensure a smooth and transparent counting process.
