Pune: Natural Nullah Goes Missing, Environmentalist Lodges Complaint With PMC

Pune 24th August 2023: In a shocking incident reported in the Hingne area of the city, an environmentalist has lodged a complaint with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) that a natural Nullah located in the area has gone missing. According to a complaint filed by environmentalist Anant Gharat, the 40-feet Nullah has been mentioned in the survey conducted by the Municipal Corporation through a third party organisation.

However, the complainant in his written complaint to the municipal commissioner has alleged that the natural Nullah is only on the paper and it has gone missing from the spot. The Nullah that originates from Taljai Panchgaon Pathari forest passes from Hingne and goes to Mutha river, stated the complainant.

According to reports, the Pune Municipal Corporation had conducted a survey through a third party organisation to find out constructions on the Nullahs across the city. The environmentalist has stated that the natural Nullah was mentioned in the survey report. However, it has now gone missing and he has also alleged that the officials of the civic body are also involved in allowing illegal activities on it.
