Pune: Over 21K Farmers Ready To Give Their 491.642 Hectares Of Land For Ring Road Project, Officials Eye To Acquire Remaining 246.9031 Hectares For Project

Pune 24th August 2023: In a significant development for the proposed Ring Road Project the administration has gained momentum in the land acquisition process. According to officials, a total of 12,166 farmers have given their consent to provide their land for the project so far. The authorities have distributed a total of Rs 491 Crore to the farmers towards compensation of acquired land and the district administration is now aiming to distribute additional Rs 1,000 crore for the acquired land by the end of this month.

The district administration had set a deadline of August 21st to receive consent letters from landowners in the western section of the Ring Road. According to this timeline, a total of 2,455 plots of land are required from 35 villages spread across Maval, Mulshi, Haveli, and Bhor talukas.

A total of around 738.64 hectares of land is with 16,940 farmers from these four talkas of which around 12,166 farmers have given their consent to give 4,997.42 hectares of land for the project in the last 21 days. The district administration now has to acquire 24,690.31 hectares of land for the project.

According to officials, the highest amount of compensation has been given to the farmers from Maval taluka as around Rs 218.61 Lakh has been distributed in this Taluka out of Rs 491 Crore distributed to the farmers for this project so far.
