Pune: NBCD School at INS Shivaji, Lonavala Marks 70 Years of Excellence
Lonavala, 17th November 2023: NBCD School based at INS Shivaji, Lonavala celebrated its 70th anniversary on 14 Nov 23. Cmde Mohit Goel, NM Commanding Officer INS Shivaji graced the event as Chief Guest.
The school was established as Atomic Biological Chemical Defence (ABCD) School on 14 Nov 1953 and was rechristened as NBCD School on 13 Apr 1965.
The school conducts training on shipbased Fire fighting, Damage Control and Nuclear Biological and Chemical Protection for trainees of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and Navies of the Friendly Foreign Nations. The school has a throughput of more than 200 courses per year and is one of the premier training institutions of the Indian Navy.
