Pune, 22nd September 2022: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is planning a hospital for the treatment of stray dogs at Ramtekdi, Hadapsar. However, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held a protest at the entrance of the PMC, claiming that the problem of animal health will increase instead of being solved due to this hospital being built next to the garbage depot.

There are a large number of pets in Pune city. It mainly has the largest number of dogs. These dogs should be counted. During this movement, a demand was made that they should get all the facilities of health and vaccination. As the hospital to be built at Hadapsar Ramtekdi is adjacent to the garbage depot, there is a possibility of infection of various types of viruses in the animals coming here for treatment. Considering this possibility, having an animal hospital in the area can be very dangerous. The NCP is trying to shift the hospital to a clean place in other parts of the city. A statement to this effect has been given to the Commissioner, who said that he will reconsider the matter immediately.

NCP’s Pune City President Prashant Jagtap, MLA Chetan Tupe, Ex-Mayor Vaishalitai Bankar, Ex-Corporator Yogesh Sasane, Ashok Kamble, Gafur Pathan, Pradeep Deshmukh, Mrinalini Vani, Rupali Patil, Shantanu Jagdale, Deepak Kamthe, and other officials were present.
