Talegaon, 13th May 2023: Based on a complaint from mother of late Kishore Aware, Pimpri Chinchwad Police have booked Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Sunil Shelke and six others for the murder of Aware yesterday in Talegaon Dabhade.
Talegaon Dabhade was shaken by a shocking incident as Kishore Aware (48), the founder president of Jansewa Vikas Seva Samiti, was brutally attacked and killed. The incident occurred at the Municipal Council of Talegaon Dabhade around 1.40 pm.
Kishore Aware, known for his active involvement in social work and politics, had been expressing concerns about threats to his life for the past six months.
According to Sulochana Gangaram Aware (69), Kishore’s mother and former president of Talegaon Dabhade Nagar Parishad, her son had repeatedly informed her about the threats he received from MLA Sunil Shelke, Sunil’s brother Sudhakar Shelke, and Sandeep Garade. Kishore’s political opponents were allegedly involved in frequent clashes with him and his supporters.
“Tensions between Kishore and the Shelke brothers escalated due to political differences and Kishore’s association with his friend Santosh Shelke, who had filed a non-cognizable complaint against Sunil Shelke. Kishore had openly opposed Sunil Shelke’s actions and regularly protested against the alleged wrongdoings committed by Sunil and his followers, which further fueled their animosity towards him.”
Around 12.30 pm on Friday, Kishore visited the Talegaon Dabhade Municipal Council. After he was coming out around 1.40 pm, Shyam Nigadkar, a resident of Talegaon Dabhade, along with three unidentified assailants attacked him. They unleashed a brutal attack on Kishore, using firearms and sharp weapons, resulting in his death. He was shot with pistol and then assaulted with a chopper several times.
The news reached Sulochana Aware through Kishore’s friend, Sagar Sambhaji Dabhade, who informed her about the horrifying incident while she was at home.
The FIR has been registered by Talegaon Dabhade police station against MLA Sunil Shelke, Sudhakar Shelke, Sandeep Garade, Shyam Nigadkar and three others. They have been booked for offences under section 302 (murder) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is going on.
