Pune: NCP Worker Booked For Threatening PMC’s Deputy Municipal Commissioner

Pune 24th July 2023: The Pune city police have booked a member of the National Congress Party (NCP) for allegedly threatening a deputy municipal commissioner of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The accused is associated with the Right to Information Cell of the party in Pune and a case against him has been registered at Shivajinagar police station in the matter.

The accused identified as Dinesh Kharade (45) has been booked in the matter following a complaint filed by the deputy municipal commissioner. According to officials, the incident took place between 5:30 pm and 6 pm inside Jagtap’s office in old building the Pune Municipal Corporation on July 21. Kharade who came with a disabled person
over an issue has an argument with Jagtap which later escalated.

It is alleged that the accused threatened the deputy municipal commissioner inside his cabin and left only after the security personnel were called. A case has been registered at Shivajinagar police station under sections of 353, 341 and 506 of the Indian penal Code (IPC). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
