Pune, 6th May 2022: To break the traffic congestion in the city, an elevated road of about 36 km proposed by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the development plan of 1987 will be developed.

Neo Metro is proposed to be a good option for low cost passenger transport on this road. Mahametro submitted its plan to the municipal administration on Thursday (May 6). For this metro, Maha-Metro has suggested some changes in the route of PMC’s “HCMTR” road and the final decision will be taken after inspecting the site by PMC officials.

The HCMTR road proposed by the Municipal Corporation is 24 to 30 meters depending on the location. Therefore, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had suggested that along with passenger transport, Neo Metro should also be taken into consideration.

Accordingly, the work was handed over to Mahametro. Accordingly, although Mahametro has submitted its report, in some places the “HCMTR” road poles will be 12 meters on the road. So the road below is going to be even narrower. As a result, there will be traffic jams on those roads.

With this in mind, Metro has suggested changes. Therefore, a team of officers from road, construction, project, estate management has been formed to look into these changes, along with the officials of Maha-Metro, where the change of route has been suggested.
