Pune: New MH12 YJ Series for Two-Wheelers to Begin from July 19 in Pune

Pune, 18th July 2025: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has announced the launch of a new vehicle registration number series — MH12 YJ — for two-wheelers, starting July 19. Citizens looking to reserve preferred registration numbers from this new series can do so via the government’s faceless online service, which will go live at 12 PM on July 19.

In a statement, the Deputy Regional Transport Officer urged citizens to note that offline applications or payments for preferred numbers will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Use Aadhaar-linked mobile number or OTP-based login for access
The service is available only through the official portal

This faceless facility is available for private two-wheeler owners as well as other vehicle categories, although only private owners can access the online system. For non-personal vehicles, attractive registration numbers will continue to be issued via the RTO office.
