Mumbai, 18th July 2025: Several unaided professional educational institutions across Maharashtra have failed to publish their official fee structures for the academic year 2025-26 on their notice boards and websites, in clear violation of state regulations. Raising concerns over this lack of transparency, social activist Kalpesh Yadav has submitted a formal complaint to the Maharashtra Fee Regulating Authority (FRA), demanding immediate legal action against the non-compliant colleges.

Violation of Mandatory Provisions
As per Section 14(c)(4) of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015, it is mandatory for institutions to display course-wise approved fees in both Marathi and English on their notice boards and official websites. However, several well-known colleges have deliberately ignored this rule, Yadav alleged.

Colleges Under Scrutiny
The following engineering colleges from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have not displayed their approved fee structures:

Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi

Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pimpri

Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT)

Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT)

Cummins College of Engineering for Women

PVG College of Engineering

With the first CAP round results of the CET expected soon, students are required to make informed decisions about confirming admissions or waiting for subsequent rounds. “Without published fee details, students are left in the dark and face undue stress during this critical phase of the admission process,” Yadav stated.

Yadav emphasized that he and a group of concerned parents have been fighting for student rights for the past four years, bringing about several positive changes. “Despite repeated instructions from the authorities, some institutions continue to manipulate the admission process. We will maintain strict vigilance over such malpractice,” he warned.
