Theur, 27th November 2025: A major accident was reported on the Theur–Kolwadi Road near the cremation ground in Theur village (Haveli taluka) around 10 pm on Wednesday, after a speeding truck rammed into nine parked two-wheelers. No injuries were reported, though all the motorcycles sustained significant damage. Police have registered a case against the truck driver at Loni Kalbhor Police Station.

The accused driver has been identified as Shriram Santaram Varpe, 25, a resident of Kordewadi in Beed district. The complaint was lodged by Ajay Manohar Pawar, 33, a resident of Theur.

Police said Pawar had parked his bike outside the cremation ground while attending a funeral, along with several other visitors. A sudden loud crash alerted people, who rushed outside to find that a truck travelling from Kolwadi towards Theur had ploughed into the parked vehicles.

Motorcycles belonging to Vijay Pawar, Vikas Vyavahare, and six others were severely damaged in the impact. Initial investigations suggest the truck was being driven at high speed, leading Varpe to lose control and collide with the row of two-wheelers.

Police Constable Bargaje is conducting further inquiries into the incident.
