Pune, 9th April 2023: The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), a union of IT employees, has come out strongly against LTI Mindtree for its unethical tactics. According to complaints received by NITES, LTI Mindtree is planning to remove freshers who have been waiting for their joining date for more than a year under the guise of a new training program called IGNITE.

LTI Mindtree sent out offer letters to these freshers in January 2022 for training and employment. However, instead of providing them with an onboarding date, the company has introduced a Learning and Training Program that will last for 6-7 weeks. The freshers have been given two options: to undergo this assessment-based training or have their earlier offer automatically canceled.

NITES has strongly condemned this behaviour, stating that it is completely unacceptable and goes against ethical business practices. This move may also set a dangerous precedent for future recruitment practices. LTI Mindtree is putting these freshers in a state of uncertainty and using this new program as a way to delay their onboarding. This is not only unfair to the freshers who have been eagerly waiting for their employment, but it is also a breach of trust and a violation of their rights as employees.

NITES has called upon LTI Mindtree to reconsider its decision and provide a clear and transparent process for the onboarding of these freshers. The company must respect the commitment made to these freshers and provide them with a fair and just opportunity to begin their employment. NITES has urged LTI Mindtree to immediately halt this program and provide these freshers with a clear onboarding date.

Harpreet Singh Saluja, President of NITES, said, “This behavior by LTI Mindtree is completely unacceptable. We urge the company to reconsider its decision and provide these freshers with a fair and transparent onboarding process. The company must respect the commitment made to these freshers and provide them with a clear onboarding date. We call upon LTI Mindtree to immediately halt this program and provide these freshers with the opportunity to begin their employment.”

It remains to be seen how LTI Mindtree will respond to this call from NITES and whether the company will take action to address the concerns raised.
