Laxmi Road, 10th December 2021: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will celebrate Pedestrian Day on Laxmi Road on Saturday, December 11th. The civic body has appealed to the people to enjoy shopping without bothering for traffic congestion.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) Rahul Shrirame said that the Laxmi Road stretch between Nagarkar Talim Chowk and Umbrya Maruti Chowk will be transformed into an open street mall for a day. Therefore, commuters must avoid going towards Laxmi Road and use alternative routes to reach their destination.

  • Vehicles going from Mandar Lodge on Kelkar Road via Lokhande Talim Chowk to Kunte Chowk on Laxmi Road will have to reach Ramanbagh Chowk (Takle Haveli Chowk) and then go to Umbrya Ganpati Chowk on Laxmi Road.
  • Vehicles coming from SG Barve Chowk to Shivaji Road as per the requirement will go to the desired place via Jangli Maharaj (JM) Road.
  • The stretch of Laxmi Road between Nagarkar Talim Chowk and Umbrya Ganpati Chowk will be made no-parking zone during the walking plaza program.
