Pune: Notorious ‘Bunty Babli’ couple arrested for burglaries

Pune, July 9, 2020: Crime Branch unit 1 of Pune City Police has arrested a couple who used to allegedly commit burglary after doing recce while selling cleaning materials. Five burglary cases have been registered against them. Police have seized 45 grams of gold, a two-wheeler and some tools used for burglary.

The arrested persons have been identified as Rama Papa Jadhav alias Rama Sonaji Kamble (25) and Usha Rama Kamble (28), residents of Shivajinagar. There are cases registered against them at  Lashkar, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Koregaon Park, Kamshet Takve police stations. Acting on a tip-off received by policeman Gajanan Sonune, a team nabbed them in Camp.

According to police, the couple visited various housing societies and residential buildings under the pretext of selling brooms, pochha cloths, etc. during the day, and carried out a recce of closed flats. Later during the night, they would break into such flats and commit burglary. In the past, 26 cases have been registered against them, and they were arrested earlier also.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale, DCP (Crime) Bachchan Singh, ACP Shivaji Pawar supervised the investigation team which included Senior Police Inspector Mahendra Jagtap, Arun Waikar, PSI Sanjay Gaikwad and police personnel Vijesingh Wasave, Arvind Chavan, Gajanan Sonune, Umesh Kate, Subhash Pingle, Ashok Mane, Tushar Malwadkar, Pooja Karanjawne and Vaishali Kaurav.
