Pune: Notorious Thief Duo Arrested By Hinjawadi Police, Solving 10 Cases

Hinjawadi, May 30th, 2024: The notorious thief duo, well-known for their expertise in burglary, has been apprehended by Hinjawadi Police. Their arrest has resulted in the resolution of approximately 10 crimes. This action was prompted by a burglary incident that took place in Kaspate Wasti, Wakad on May 23rd.

Abhijeet Gokuldas Marwadi (38 years old, resident of Wakad) filed the complaint, leading to the registration of a case against the then-unknown accused under IPC Sections 454 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment), 457 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment), and 380 (theft in a dwelling house, etc.) by Hinjawadi Police.

According to police reports, Hinjawadi Police received information from a confidential source regarding a crime committed by two history-sheeters. Upon learning that these individuals were heading to the Hinjawadi area, the police set up a trap, resulting in the arrest of Dayamanna Yallappa Shivpure (age 42, resident of Shivajinagar) and Durgappa Shrikrishna Shriram (age 45, resident of Solapur). Upon investigating their records, it was revealed that both Shivpure and Shriram were involved in numerous burglaries. Shivpure had crimes registered against him at Vijapur Naka, Sangvi, Chaturshringi, Pimpri, Wakad, Nigdi, and Kothrud police stations, including charges of burglary and assaulting a public servant. Shriram had various crimes registered against him at MIDC Bhosari, Vijapur Naka, and Sadar Bazar (Solapur) Police Stations, including dacoity with weapons.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Bapu Bangar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr Vishal Hire led by a team comprising Senior Police Inspector Kanhaiya Thorat, Police Inspector (Crime) Rushikesh Ghadge, Assistant Police Inspector Ram Gomare, and several police constables including Bandu Marne, Balkrishna Shinde, Naresh Balsane, Bapursaheb Dhumal, Yogesh Shinde, Kailas Kengle, Kunal Shinde, Vikram Kudal, Arun Narale, Ritesh Koli, Shrikant Chavan, Chandrakant Gadade, Karbhari Palve, Datta Shinde, Amar Rane, and Omprakash Kamble.
