Undri, 10th October 2021: Nyati County Residents Forum (NCRF), Undri in association with Anand Van Mitra Mandal (AVMM) carried out tree plantation in the hills of Mohammadwadi forest.

The residents from different housing societies of Undri and Mohammadwadi planted native trees and pledged for carrying out the mission of green conservation and protection of the environment.

The NCRF, a new forum set up by the local residents, aims to play a bigger role in shaping the environment, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring tree plantation along the roadsides, and the disposal of garbage and litter. The forum’s mission is to make the area a better place to live and resolve issues like traffic congestion, parking shortage and other civic related issues.

Mohammadwadi forest area is Pune’s most ecologically sensitive zone where several green activists across Pune have been demanding the forest department’s attention for converting them into an urban forest with support from the Maharashtra state government. The forest forms an important biodiversity zone with rich flora and fauna.

Anand Van Mitra Mandal (AVMM) under the vision of its dynamic President Pravin Kumar alias Kumar Uncle has been planning to connect all the forests in Mohammadwadi into India’s biggest and largest Urban Eco Park Biodiversity Corridor.
