Pune: Officer Who Investigated Elgaar Parishad Case To Return To Pimpri Chinchwad As DCP

Pune 18th August 2023: The home ministry in Maharashtra on Friday issued transfer orders of several senior officers in the state and two more Deputy Commissioners (DCP) were appointed in Pimpri Chichwad Police. This includes an officer who during his tenure as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) with Pune City Police investigated the Elgaar Parishad case that led to arrests of some renowned activists from various parts of the country for their alleged links with maoists organisation.

The home ministry appointed Shivaji Pawar who was posted as Additional Superintendent of Police at the Maharashtra Police Academy in Nashik as DCP of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police. Along with him Sandip Doiphode who was posted as Superintendent of Police of Force One was also appointed as new DCP of Pimpri Chinchwad.

The state cabinet had earlier approved two new posts of DCP for the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. A proposal in this regard was earlier sent by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police.
