Pune: Oliver Crawford Wins $15000 KPIT–MSLTA ITF WTT Cup Men’s Tennis Championships

Pune, 28 March 2021: Fourth-seeded Oliver Crawford stopped the winning run of eighth-seeded Zane Khan to win the men’s singles event at the $15000 KPIT –MSLTA ITF WTT Cup Men’s tennis championships being organized by MSLTA in association with Deccan Gymkhana and played at their tennis courts

 

In a one-sided final the three weeks of stress seemed to have shown on the young Zane Khan as he went down without a struggle.

 

In a match lasting just over an hour 21 year, Crawford had taken out 3 Indians on way to the final ousted Zane Khan 6-3,6-0. In the first set, Crawford broke Khan in the 2nd and the 4th games and broke himself in the 5th game to win the set 6-3. In the second set, Crawford steamrolled Khan breaking thrice to win the match and the title

 

The singles winner Oliver Crawford got $2,160(₹156500) and 10 ATP points while the runners up Zane Khan received $1,272 (₹92000). The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr Kishor Patil VP MSLTA and President Of PMDTA, Former Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Dalvi, MSLTA Secretary Sunder Iyer, Vishwas Lokare Hon Sec of Deccan Gymkhana. ITF supervisor Sheetal Iyer and Ashwin Girme Tennis Secretary Deccan Gymkhana were present on the occasion.
