Pune: Organisations Decide To Protest Against Controversial Statement Made By Governor About Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Declare Bandh On December 13

Pune, 7th December 2022: Protests are being held all over Maharashtra to oppose the controversial statement made by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Against this backdrop, a meeting was organised by the representatives of various organisations in Pune city in front of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the grounds of SSPMS today (December 7).

 

In the meeting, a unanimous decision was taken to shut down Pune on December 13 to protest against the Governor.

 

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) city president Prashant Jagtap, Congress party city president Arvind Shinde, Shiv Sena city chief Sanjay More, Gajanan Tharkude, Santosh Shinde of Sambhaji Brigade, and representatives of various organisations were present for the meeting.

 

“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been insulted many times by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader to date. Meanwhile, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has made a statement. It has been almost a month since this statement. However, the BJP leadership is not taking any action against the Governor,” said Santhosh Shinde of Sambhaji Brigade.

 

“The decision of Pune Bandh on December 13 was taken unanimously by the representatives of all organizations,” he added. Shinde also said that the fight will continue till action is taken against the Governor.
