Pune: Over 35,000 Kg Waste Collected During Cleanliness Drive Today

Pune, 8th January 2023: A cleanliness campaign was organized in Pune today by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for public cleanliness with the participation of citizens. This cleanliness campaign was organized in various places such as public roads, residential areas, historical places, and tourist spots of the city under the 15 ward offices of the PMC.

 

A total of 3000-3500 participants were present on this occasion. Representatives of various NGOs also participated in this cleanliness campaign.

 

15 ward offices together conducted the cleanliness drive at 77 places and a total of 35,543 kg of waste was collected, including 27,819 kg of dry waste as well as 3,724 kg of wet waste, and 4,000 kg of other waste. A total of 6921 participants registered their participation in this cleanliness drive. This cleanliness drive will contribute to the city’s beautification preparations for the G-20 Summit, officials said.

 

The campaign was inaugurated by cleaning the historical Shaniwar Wada building. N. D. T College of Education Pune, Hujurpaga College Pune, Marathwada Mitra Mandal College of Commerce Pune, Deccan College Yerwada Pune, P Jog College Pune, BMCC College,

H. V. Desai College Pune, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan Pune Ministry of Youth and Sports,National Service Scheme, Worship Earth Foundation, and Ekta Yoga Foundation, students of Bhumi Janvikas Sanstha, and others were present.
