Pune: Paintings of 17 artists to be exhibited in ‘Brush Strokes 2’

Pune, 2 September 2022 Art connoisseurs from Pune have got a chance to see the paintings of 17 artists, from different age-groups, with different styles under a single-roof. Kalashri Arts, founded by artist Nilesh Pawar, have organized a painting exhibition – ‘Brush Strokes 2’ from Friday September 9, to Sunday September 11, at Darpan Art Gallery, Patrakar Nagar, near Senapati Bapat Road.
The formal inauguration will be done at the hands of participating artists on Thursday, September 8 at 7 PM. After that the exhibition will be open for viewing from September 9 between 11 AM to 8 PM till Sunday.

Distinguished artists like Arti Kirloskar, Shubhangi Manjrekar, Sheetal Kalbhor, Rajashree Jangle, Suhas Jangle, Manjushree Bhanagay, Nitin Bhanagay,  Jyoti Kurane, Karuna Chawla, Megha Sharma, Poonam Garud, Anjali Kailat, Bani Khurana, Pravin Kini, Paritosh Sakorkar, Sharannya Sakorkar and Nilesh Pawar, are participating in this exhibition.

The exhibition will feature over 50 paintings by Pawar and his disciples, some of which are their own creations, while some are ‘study paintings’. Paintings based on Lord Krishna, or the Varasani Ghats, cultural paintings, that have been made using different techniques like knifework, brushwork, texture work, sponge-roller work, and spray technique, will be on display.

Pawar said, “This is the second edition of Brush Strokes exhibition. We had organized it for the first time in 2019. We aim to organize it after every one and half years.”

“This year, the exhibition will feature works from the artists, who are aged between 15 to above 70 years. Painting is a visual art and hence through this exhibition, we are motivating the artists, so that their work can be seen by the public.”
