Pune: Patient Found Dead At Yerawada Mental Hospital, Suicide Suspected
Yerawada 21st Sept 2023: A 25-year-old patient who was admitted to the Regional Mental Hospital in Yerawada was found dead inside the hospital on Tuesday. The deceased was found hanging in his room and the police have registered a case of sudden death in the matter.
According to officials, the patient was referred to the Regional Mental Hospital from Sassoon General Hospital on Sunday and he was kept in the barrack 7 of the hospital. According to the primary investigation, the police suspect it to be a case of suicide as the deceased was found hanging with a pant to the window grill of his room. The autopsy report has also pointed to a case of suicide.
The body was handed over to the family members of the deceased after conducting a postmortem and the officials of the Yerawada Police Station are investigating further in the matter.
