Pune: Pavana dam Filled Upto 100% Of Its Capacity, Water Storage In Khadakwasla Cluster Reaches 91.95%

Pune 24th August 2023: Despite low rainfall recorded in the last few days, the water storage in the Pavana dam has reached 100% of its capacity on Wednesday. The dam is the main source of water for Pimpri Chinchwad city. Water storage is Andra Dam that also supplies water to Pimpri Chinchwad has reached 95% of its capacity. This comes as a big relief for citizens of twin city as they are less likely to face shortage of water supply as their source of supply has good storage.

The four dams in the Khadakwasla cluster that supply water to Pune city have also reached 91.95% of their capacity on Wednesday. However, it is less compared to the storage reported on the same day last year. According to the irrigation department, water storage in Khadakwasla dam has reached upto 56.22%, Panshet is at 100%, Warasgaon is at 95.51% while storage in Temghar dam has reached upto 75.57% on Wednesday The collective water storage in the four dams has reached 26.80 TMC compared to 29.15 TMC reported on the same day last year.
