Pune, 28th October 2025: In a sudden administrative reshuffle, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Additional Commissioner M. J. Pradeep Chandran has been transferred after a brief tenure of just seven months. Deputy Director of Yashada, Pavneet Kaur, has been appointed as his successor. The transfer orders were issued by Subhash Umranikar, Joint Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD).

Pavneet Kaur, a 2014-batch IAS officer, has previously served in several key administrative positions, including Chief Executive Officer of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Zilla Parishad, Commissioner of the Tribal Research and Training Institute, District Collector of Amravati, and Director of the Geological Survey and Development Institute. Before her latest appointment, she was serving as Deputy Director at Yashada, Pune.

Pradeep Chandran was posted as Additional Commissioner in PMC in March 2025. However, before completing his tenure, he has now been transferred and appointed as Project Officer of the Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (SMART), a position that has been accorded upgraded status as part of the reshuffle.

Meanwhile, Chandran’s premature transfer has sparked discussion within civic circles, as such early administrative movements often lead to disruptions in ongoing projects and decision-making processes.
