Pune: PCMC Demolishes Encroachments From Wakad Chowk To Jagtap Dairy Chowk
Wakad, 9th January 2024: In a concerted effort under the ‘D’ Zone Office, the Municipal Encroachment Department carried out a decisive anti-encroachment action, targeting unauthorized constructions along the Wakad Chowk to Jagtap Dairy Chowk road in Ward 26 Mauje Wakad.

A total of 22 unauthorized tinsheds were dismantled during the operation, along with the demolition of unauthorized brickwork and tinsheds spanning an area of approximately 29,000 square feet.
This crackdown came into effect following the directives of Commissioner Shekhar Singh and was executed under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil and City Engineer Makarand Nikam.

Emphasizing the ongoing commitment to tackling encroachment issues, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil stated that the department would continue its efforts across the city. The message is clear: encroaching on footpaths or obstructing traffic will not be tolerated.
He further warned that legal action would be taken against any instances of encroachment, reinforcing the municipality’s resolve to maintain the integrity of public spaces and ensure smooth traffic flow.
