Pune: PCMC Gets Most Complaints About Water Supply, Potholes In The First ‘Public Dialogue’

Pimpri, 21st March 2022: The first public dialogue (Jan Samvad) meeting was held today since the appointment of the administrator of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

 

 

A total of 170 citizens from all the eight ward offices lodged complaints and suggestions at the meeting. The number of complaints was high regarding smooth water supply, filling of potholes, asphalting of roads, repair of street lights.

 

 

On behalf of PCMC, in order to maintain the balance between the citizens and the administration of the city and to expedite the redressal of grievances, a public dialogue meeting was held in all the eight ward offices of PCMC today as per the order of the PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Rajesh Patil. About 170 citizens lodged complaints and suggestions. In this 21, 24, 5, 19, 17, 14, 11, 11 citizens in the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H ward offices respectively presented their views in the public dialogue meeting.

 

 

Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne and Jitendra Wagh acted as controlling officers in the public meeting. Some of the complaints received today are resolved immediately, and regarding some complaints, the decisions will be taken at the level of Municipal Administrator and Commissioner Rajesh Patil regarding policy matters.

Various complaints and suggestions were made in the public meeting. These include assigning property rights as an occupier of property ownership, taking action on unauthorized constructions, restoring interrupted power supply at high pressure, filling potholes, tarring roads, speed bumps, and dividers on the traffic roads. Installation, repair of drainage lines, installation of new drainage channels where necessary, erection of public toilets, the appointment of the security guard in subways, planting of trees by stopping illegal logging, the opening of closed swimming pools, repair of open gym, obstruction of roadside parking, to make decisions about hawker zones, to resolve complaints of increased water bills, to provide small vehicles for garbage collection, river pollution problems, and their cleanliness, etc.
