Pimpri, 7th June 2025: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced a nationwide brand design competition for its flagship ‘Harit Setu’ project aimed at transforming urban mobility and promoting eco-friendly transport. Organised in collaboration with the Association of Designers of India (ADI), Pune Chapter, the competition invites creative minds across the country to contribute to the visual identity of one of the city’s most ambitious public infrastructure initiatives. Registrations will open from June 9 through www.adiawards.org.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh said the competition reflects PCMC’s commitment to participatory governance and people-first planning. “Harit Setu is more than a mobility project — it represents our vision of creating a sustainable, inclusive and aesthetically designed urban environment. By involving the design community, we aim to capture this spirit in a brand identity that resonates with citizens,” he said.

The Harit Setu initiative focuses on improving walkability, developing safe and accessible roads, streamlining parking, and strengthening public transport and intersection design. It is a key part of PCMC’s long-term effort to shift towards clean, efficient, and citizen-centric transport systems.

The contest is open to design professionals, students, and citizens across India. ADI Pune will serve as the coordinating agency and will provide technical guidance to participants. The competition will also be supported by webinars and workshops to encourage wider participation and awareness.

President of ADI Pune Chapter, Yogesh Dandekar, noted that design has a critical role in how people interact with public spaces. “With chapters in 13 cities and strong student networks, ADI has been at the forefront of design advocacy in public projects. We are glad to partner with PCMC to make this a high-impact, inclusive exercise.”

Submissions will be evaluated by a jury comprising senior ADI members and experienced designers.
