Pune: PCMC Organises ‘Reels’ Competition To Encourage Citizens To Pay Taxes
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 19th June 20203: The Taxation and Tax Collection Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has come up with another innovative idea to encourage citizens to pay their due taxes within a specific time frame. This time, the taxation department has organised a ‘Reels’ competition for this cause. The citizens will be encouraged to avail themselves of the facilities of the corporation by filling out taxes regularly through social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
Currently, social messages are given through songs, jokes, graphics through reels. Earlier, the department had organised a ‘meme’ competition, which got a good response from the citizens, prompting the department to think of something new this time. The tax collection department has organised a ‘Reels’ competition to appeal people to pay taxes through this medium.
The first prize will be Rs. 5000, the second prize will be Rs. 3000, and the third prize will be Rs. 2000. The artists’ reels will be publicised through the social media of the municipality. As a result of the initiatives implemented by the Tax Collection Department and various concessions, over two lakh property owners have availed of concessions worth Rs. 13 crore till date. If the tax is paid before June 30, the Municipal Corporation has given tax concessions.
“To participate in the Reels competition, contestants should post their reels on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter by June 30 only. While posting reels, #pcmcpraxreels #ptaxreels #pcmcptaxconcession, this hashtags should be used. Appropriate hashtags, creativity, and innovation in the reels will be considered for the results,” said Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner, Taxation and Collection Department, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipality.
