Pune: PCMC To Build Rahul Kumar Bajaj Memorial In Akurdi

Pimpri, 17th February 2022: Bajaj Group has made a significant contribution to the industrial development of Pimpri Chinchwad city. Former chairman of Bajaj Group Rahul Bajaj recently passed away. The Standing Committee of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) yesterday approved the erection of a ‘Rahul Kumar Bajaj’ memorial at Akurdi Chowk in his memory.

Also, Mula (Mutha) river rejuvenation project is being implemented jointly with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). 14.20 km of Mula river length flows through PCMC. It has been recommended to the general body meeting to get approval for various works worth Rs 750 crore.

The meeting, chaired by the chairman of Standing Committee Adv. Nitin Landage was scheduled for last week and was held on Wednesday (February 16). A total of 120 topics were approved in this meeting.

In this meeting, approval was also given to set up a multi-storey parking lot at Sakhubai Gabaji Gawli Udyan on Bhosari Alandi Road in ward no. 5.
An expenditure of Rs 7,34,17,161 was sanctioned for the construction of the parking lot.

This multi-story parking lot will eliminate the problem of parking vehicles on Bhosari-Alandi road and within the Bhosari area. This will help in smoothing the traffic there. As a result, the business of the traders in the Bhosari area will also increase.

Also in Dighi, the Ex-Servicemen Development Association has been working for the last several years to implement welfare schemes for ex-servicemen along with their families. More than 5,000 ex-servicemen are living in Bhosari, Dighi, Bopkhel, Ganeshnagar, Moshi, Charholi areas.

PCMC has erected Shaheed Colonel Santosh Mahadik Multipurpose Bhavan at Dighi. The second and third floors of the building have also been approved for use by the Ex-Servicemen’s Development Association, Dighi for the next five years.
