Their expenses have been more than the income they generate. The Municipal Corporation has faced multiple difficulties in running these spaces. Thus, the PCMC has decided to hand over the auditoriums to private institutions. From 1st October the they will be in the hands of the respective institutions. Besides this, Akurdi’s G.D.Madgulkar Natyagruha will soon be opened for the audience.

Construction, maintenance, and electricity expenses surpass the income of these auditoriums. The expenses have crossed crores and are increasing day by day. Privatization was the only option to rely on. As per the decision, the Chinchwad Theater Workshop Company has come ahead to takeover Atre Rangmandir. From 1st October, it will be handed over to the respective institution. Until then, the necessary work will be completed by the Municipal Corporation.

Chinchwad’s More Natyagruha and Atre Rangmandir were built as the rightful stages for cultural programs but are running in losses. From the initial times, dramas arranged here were less in number. The major issue of Atre Rangmandir is the parking, leading to the scarcity of audience there. To increase the income of the auditorium, it is being handed over to private institutions.
