Pune: PCMC To Set Up Open Gyms In 34 Places In Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 21st March 2022: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will set up open gyms at 34 places in the city. Different types of exercise equipment will be procured from four suppliers for this gym. It will cost around Rs 2 crore 82 lakh.
There are currently 86 gyms within the municipal limit. The policy of these gyms has been formulated according to the categories ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’. Apart from this, PCMC has implemented the concept of an open gym in various places like parks, grounds, and footpaths in the city. It is appealed to the citizens who go for a morning walk to take advantage of these open gyms.
According to PCMC, materials will be supplied and installed for various open gyms as required by the sports department of the corporation. Different types of equipment will be procured for this open gym. For this, PCMC had requested tenders from interested suppliers on a contract basis for a period of one year. Accordingly, 19 tenders were received.
Among the eligible tenders, Edunidus from Pune submitted a bid of Rs 80 lakh 81 thousand for three items. Trimurti Engineering from Pune offered a minimum rate of Rs 86 lakh 93 thousand for four items. Baba Play World from Thane offered a rate of Rs 53 lakh 74 thousand for three items. Honey Fun N Thrill Company from Thane offered a minimum rate of Rs 59 lakh 89 thousand.
These four suppliers submitted rates of Rs 2 crore 81 lakh 39 thousand for a total of 13 items. This rate was accepted as they were lower than the tender rate. Supply orders will be issued for the purchase of various open gym equipment through agreements with all four suppliers.
