Pune: PCMC To Start Garbage Collection Charges From April 1; Check Details Here
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 11th February 2023: From April 1, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will charge each home a monthly service fee. The cost is between Rs 60 and Rs 2,000. The said expense will be covered by tax bills.
Residential property owners will have to pay Rs 720 per year for garbage separation. The sum will be added to the tax bill for real estate.
PCMC decided the same as per the Central Government’s Environment, Forests, and Climate Change Ministry’s April 8, 2016, GR.
As of July 1, 2019, all municipal corporations will pay a set usage fee under the state government’s cleaning and health policy. The general body meeting that was convened on October 20, 2021, approved the said plan.
The fees are as follows:
Reportedly, Rs 60 will be charged for a house, Rs 90 for stores and clinics, godowns, hotels, furniture, auto, electronics showrooms and hospitals with 50 beds need to give Rs 160 each. Hospitals with more than 50 beds need to give Rs 240.
Meanwhile, lodging and dining hotels will be charged Rs 200. Rs 120 for religious organizations and educational institutions and hostels. Wedding banquets, theatres, and shopping centres along with multiplex will be charged Rs 2,000. A one-time fee will be charged for fairs, Satsang, food festivals, and firecrackers stalls.
