Pimpri, 27th September 2023: The English medium schools operated by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) have experienced a significant uptick in enrollments, signaling a positive shift in public perception. Located in Dalvinagar and Bhosari, these schools have seen their enrollment numbers skyrocket from an initial 64 students to a remarkable 1,123.

This enrollment boom serves as a promising indicator, especially considering past skepticism about the quality of education in municipal schools. To address this, PCMC has been on a relentless mission to elevate educational standards. The roots of these English medium schools can be traced back to 20 years ago when they were established within the premises of existing Chinchwad-Dalvinagar and Bhosari schools.

The high cost of tuition in private English medium schools, along with concerns about management and educational quality, has led to a growing preference for PCMC’s English medium schools. These schools offer tuition-free education, making them an increasingly popular choice among parents.

According to the education department, over 7,000 students have benefited from English medium education in these schools so far. As enrollment continues to surge, there is mounting pressure from parents for the expansion of similar educational initiatives to meet the increasing demand.
