Urgent Weather Nowcast: Thunderstorms And Rain Expected In Pune And Multiple Other Districts In Maharashtra
Pune, 27th September 2023: The Meteorological Department has issued an urgent Nowcast warning at 19:30 Hrs IST, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain spells. Momentarily strong winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph are also expected.
The warning is in effect for the next 2-4 hours and covers isolated places in the districts of Nandurbar, Nasik, Ahmednagar, Thane, Dhule, Palghar, Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Jalna, Osmanabad, and Latur.
Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution while venturing outdoors and to secure any loose objects that could be affected by strong winds. The Irrigation Department has also issued a public advisory urging people to relocate water pumps, agricultural equipment, and livestock to safer areas.
