Pune: PCMC’s Gharkul Scheme Paves the Way for Economic Progress

Pimpri, 24th October 2023: The Gharkul Scheme, a collaborative effort between the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and the Central and State Governments, is turning dreams into reality for economically weaker sections. The scheme is set to usher in significant changes in the lives of its beneficiaries, offering them a chance for a brighter future, as emphasized by the Additional Commissioner, Ulhas Jagtap.

Addressing the beneficiaries of the Gharkul Scheme, Jagtap stressed the importance of ensuring that the next generation benefits from these homes and enjoys a better quality of life. He appealed to the recipients to use their flats responsibly, maintain cleanliness, refrain from renting or selling the flats they have been allotted, and wished them a prosperous and contented future.

The Gharkul Scheme is aimed at providing housing to economically disadvantaged sections of society, and it’s being executed at Link Road Patrashed. The recent computerized lottery draw, which assigned a total of 111 beneficiary flats in this building, was overseen by Additional Commissioner Ulhas Jagtap at the Auto Cluster Auditorium in Chinchwad, following the instructions of Administrator and Commissioner Shekhar Singh.

The program witnessed the presence of distinguished individuals, including Assistant Commissioner Anna Bodde, Information and Technology Officer Ujjwala Godse, Executive Engineer Angha Pathak, Office Superintendent Vishnu Bhat, along with employees and beneficiaries of the Zonipu department.

During the event, Additional Commissioner Jagtap extended his congratulations to the interim president of the planned Gharkul Co-operative Housing Society. He encouraged the beneficiaries to foster a harmonious living environment, take care of their homes, and contribute by planting trees around the building. Jagtap also advised that they enter their new homes on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, symbolizing new beginnings and prosperity.

Assistant Commissioner Anna Bodde provided insights into the project, highlighting the significant achievement for beneficiaries who have transitioned from humble huts to a promising future in these flats. She encouraged responsible use of the flats and emphasized that the future generation would benefit from this positive change.

Vishnu Bhat moderated the program and expressed gratitude on behalf of the attendees. The beneficiaries, in turn, shared their sentiments, expressing their appreciation for the life-changing opportunity provided by the Gharkul Scheme.
