Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Clears Permits For 111 Ganesh Mandals Ahead of Ganeshotsav, 104 Immersion Sites Ready

Pimpri Chinchwad, 10th September 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has completed the process of issuing permits to Ganesh mandals in the city ahead of Ganeshotsav 2026. So far, a total of 111 Ganesh mandals have been granted permission through the civic body’s various regional offices. The PCMC has also made arrangements for 104 immersion points across the city for Ganesh idol immersion.

The highest number of permits have been issued by the B regional office at 23, followed by G at 20, F at 17, D at 16, E and H at 15 each, C at two, J at two and L at one, taking the total to 111.

For idol immersion, the A regional office has arranged 10 points, B 14, C 12, D 12, E 13, F 11, G six, H 12, J nine and L five, totalling 104 immersion points.

The civic administration has made necessary arrangements to ensure that citizens do not face inconvenience during the festival and that Ganesh idols can be immersed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Citizens have been urged to use the immersion facilities provided by the municipal corporation and cooperate with the administration.

Mayor Ravi Landge said, “Ganeshotsav is a festival of faith and enthusiasm for citizens of our city. The municipal corporation has made necessary arrangements to ensure that the festival is celebrated in a joyful, disciplined and safe environment. The process of issuing permits to Ganesh mandals has been completed, while extensive arrangements have also been made for idol immersion. Citizens should immerse Ganesh idols in an environmentally friendly manner and cooperate with the municipal administration.”

PCMC commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi said, “Necessary planning has been undertaken through all regional offices of the municipal corporation for the convenience of citizens during Ganeshotsav. Along with issuing permits to Ganesh mandals, arrangements have been made at 104 locations for idol immersion. The administration is taking necessary measures to provide essential facilities at the immersion points and prevent inconvenience to citizens. Citizens should follow the instructions issued by the administration and celebrate a safe and environmentally friendly Ganeshotsav.”
