Pimpri Chinchwad, 20th April 2024: A police constable from Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Headquarters, identified as Bhushan Anil Chincholikar, has been suspended for misconduct. Chincholikar was ordered to report to Gadchiroli for Lok Sabha election preparations from April 12th to 21st along with 50 other employees of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC). However, on April 10th, when the appointed staff assembled at headquarters, Chincholikar was absent. He claimed to be ill over the phone, citing symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting, fever, and stomach ache.

Upon investigation, it was found that Chincholikar had visited the medical officer for treatment but did not undergo any tests as recommended. The medical officer confirmed that his condition was not severe. Chincholikar’s deliberate absence during an important assignment, despite being appointed for the task, was deemed a violation of orders and a serious dereliction of duty by his superiors. Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi ordered Chincholikar’s suspension, citing his unruly, irresponsible, and careless behavior.
