Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Arrest History-Sheeter for Shooting Businessman
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 7th August 2025: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have arrested the man who shot a businessman in the Pimpri Camp area. He is a history-sheeter with criminal record in the Mumbai area.
Crime Branch’s Anti-Property Crime Cell has arrested Ravindra Ghare (resident of Maval Taluka). Bhavesh Kakrani (age 20, resident of Pimpri Camp) sustained injuries in this incident.
Police said that in the Pimpri Camp area, the Kakrani family owns a grocery shop. The accused came to the shop to buy cold drinks. As the victim was handing him the drink, the accused attempted to snatch his gold chain. They had a scuffle, resulting in the accused’s gun firing and injuring Bhavesh. He was seriously injured. The accused ran away. Bhavesh, who was seriously injured, was rushed to the hospital. Pimpri Police told Punekar News that he is now stable.
In a parallel investigation led by the Anti-Property Crime Cell, the accused was determined to be Ghare. He has cases registered against him in the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai areas and is reportedly a gang leader.
Ghare is a history-sheeter known for violent crimes. His gang has been charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) of 1999, and he was absconding in connection with a violent case registered at Rabale MIDC Police Station when Pimpri-Chinchwad Police caught him.
