Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Busts Prostitution Racket Disguised as Spa Center in Akurdi
Pimpri Chinchwad, 25th December 2023: In a crackdown on an illicit operation posing as a spa center, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pimpri Chinchwad police Crime Branch registered a case against three individuals engaged in prostitution. The operation, executed on Saturday (23rd December), targeted the Blue Stones Spa located in Ganesh Vision Mall, Akurdi.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rakesh Shinde (25) of Dapodi, Akshay Bankar (30) and an unnamed female accomplice. Two victims were rescued during the operation. Police Constable Sunil Shirsat, part of the AHTU, filed a complaint at the Nigdi Police Station.
The accused allegedly operated under the guise of a spa center named Blue Stones Paha at Ganesh Vision Mall in Akurdi. However, authorities discovered their involvement in prostitution activities, wherein they exploited victims by extracting money under the pretext of spa services.
