Pimpri Chinchwad, 13th March 2025: As Holi and Dhulivandan celebrations are underway, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure a safe and peaceful experience across the region. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doiphode, in charge of the PCPC Crime Branch, emphasized that personnel have been strategically deployed zone-wise to maintain law and order. He noted that inappropriate actions, such as throwing colors on strangers without their consent, will result in action.
Additionally, DCP Doiphode has instructed event organizers to obtain police station-level permissions and adhere to noise pollution rules, ensuring that speakers and other equipment are used at limited decibels.
Checkpoints have been established, and sensitive areas will receive additional security to prevent potential mishaps. Specialized teams have been formed to tackle drunk driving and monitor roads to prevent accidents. A total of 1,500 policemen, including senior officers and constables, will be on duty. DCP Doiphode urged citizens to follow all police guidelines, avoid rash driving, and refrain from breaking any rules. He appealed for public cooperation to ensure a smooth and enjoyable celebration.
Across Maharashtra, Holi and Dhulivandan are celebrated with great enthusiasm, but these festivities often come with risks such as accidents from reckless driving and public disturbances. In Pune, several major events attract large crowds, necessitating robust security measures. The police are working diligently to prevent such incidents and ensure that the celebrations remain joyful and incident-free.
Like most parts of Maharashtra, Dhulivandan in Pune District is a time for vibrant celebrations with colors, similar to Pimpri Chinchwad. However, many people complain about being colored against their wishes, especially when they are on official duties, making it difficult for them to move around. Some individuals avoid going out due to the fear of being colored.
DCP Doiphode stated that frequent patrols have been ordered to prevent such incidents, and if complaints are filed, action will be taken against the perpetrators. He also advised event organizers to obtain necessary permissions and adhere to noise pollution norms.
Speaking to Punekar News, DCP Doiphode said, “We have deployed personnel to ensure the celebrations are enthusiastic and peaceful. 1,500 police personnel have been deployed. To prevent people from being colored without their consent, we will conduct regular patrols, and if such cases are found, action will be taken. We urge everyone to follow the rules.”
