Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Destroy 683.83 kg of Seized Ganja
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 19th March 2025: As part of the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s 100-day program, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) has successfully destroyed 683.83 kilograms of seized ganja (marijuana). This action was carried out following directives from Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, in compliance with state and national regulations on narcotics disposal.
The destruction took place at Maharashtra Enviro Power Ltd in Ranjangaon MIDC, Pune, under the supervision of a committee formed by the PCPC. The committee included Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, as well as representatives from the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL), Pune, and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB).
The operation was executed in accordance with guidelines set by the Union Ministry of Finance and the Maharashtra Home Department, ensuring the proper disposal of the confiscated substances in a controlled environment.
Senior officials overseeing the operation included CP Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional CP Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doiphode, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime 2) Balasaheb Kopner. The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Santosh Patil, with team members including Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Kadam, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Rajendra Bamble, and Police Constables Kishore Pardeshi, Mayur Wadkar, Shilpa Kamble, Nikhil Shete, Santosh Swami, Sadanand Rudrakshe, Randhir Mane, and Kapilesh Igwe.
