Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Form Squads To Reign In Troublemakers On Holi And Dhulivandan
Pimpri, 15th March 2022: In order to control unruly people during the celebration of Dhulivandan and Holi, Pimpri Chinchwad police have formed ‘Flying Squads’. This squad will maintain a watch on troublemakers will be on the radar. Many people take advantage of the festival and forcefully put colour.
Due to the covid-19 epidemic, there have been restrictions on mass celebrations for the past two years. So for two years, Dhulivandan could not be celebrated by spraying paint. This year Holi is on 17th March and Dhulivandan is on 18th March and restrictions have been relaxed.
Buses, trains, private vehicles or two-wheelers, as well as women, are targeted. Throwing water balloons can create the possibility of an accident. Some drunkards ride bikes under the guise of celebration.
Police in plain clothes will be patrolling the streets to take action against hooligans. The squads will be deployed in mixed population, sensitive areas as well as slum areas. There will be also a police watch at markets, bus stands, main chowks and other crowded places.
