Chakan, 6th November 2024: Under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC), amid the model code of conduct for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, unaccounted cash amounting to more than Rs 36 lakh was seized from an Innova car. The action was taken by authorities earlier today on Chakan-Shikrapur Road around 7 PM.

According to information provided by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chakan Division) Rajendra Singh Gaur, a surprise blockade was set up by Chakan Police in front of Chakan Criticare Hospital at around 7 PM. A car with registration number MH 14 LL 4041 was stopped, and upon thorough inspection, cash worth Rs 36.39 lakh was found. The driver of the car could not provide satisfactory answers regarding the cash. As the election code of conduct prohibits carrying more than Rs 50,000 in cash, action was initiated.
