Pune: ‘Playboy’ Aspirant Duped Of Rs 17 Lakh By Escort Services Fraudsters

Dattawadi, 7th April 2022: Pune city police has registered an FIR against unknown accused who cheated a 27-year-old man of Rs 17.26 lakh under the pretext of providing him with a ‘playboy’ role through Indian escort services. The fraudsters had promised that he will earn Rs 3,000 per hour.

 

Based on the complaint from the man, Dattawadi police station has registered a case against bank account holders in whose accounts he was made to transfer the funds. The complainant had given away his father’s savings and fixed deposit money.

His father had died during the pandemic. He used to tell his family members that he was investing money in the share market.

 

According to police, the incident took place 25th July 2021 to 24th October 2021. He had seen an advertisement on Facebook about Indian Escort Service which was put up by the fraudsters. He contacted them for registration and later he was made to pay under pretexts like license fee, room rent, pick up and drop facility, late fee etc. He kept on transferring money into the accounts given by the fraudsters.

 

After realising the fraud, he filed a complaint with the Pune city police cyber cell.
