Pune: PMC Annual Budget Presentation To Be Postponed
Pune, 9th January 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) annual budget presentation for the fiscal year 2023–2024 is likely to be postponed. The municipal government has requested permission to present the budget after the 15th January deadline. According to the schedule, the budget must receive final approval before 31st March each year. Before that, it must receive approval from both the standing committee and the PMC as a whole.
Before the long-awaited municipal elections, the civic administration now has both powers in the absence of elected representatives.
According to PMC officials, the Rs 8,592 crore municipal budget for the fiscal year 2022–2023 was approved on 7th March 2022. Compared to the previous budget of Rs 7,650 crore, the budget grew by Rs 942 crore (for 2021-22).
