Pune: PMC Begins Water Meter Installation For Equitable Water Distribution
Pune, November 10, 2020: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started installation of the water meter to ensure the equitable water distribution across the city. This will hinder the illegal connection process, said PMC officials.
Many citizens using their political relations received high inch illegal water connections , which disturbed the water distribution process of the city. But now pmc has decided to find out such connections and take action against them.
PMC has found maximum illegal water connections at Sinhgad road, Katraj, Dhankwadi. During a random inspection it was found that the city has over 11.5 lakh properties of which only 3.5 lakh water meters have been installed.
Similarly, a few officers from ward officers have accepted to have given permission to various people to have high capacity water line. There were several complaints from the citizens regarding the inadequate water, low pressure and irregular water distribution among others.
